Middays

How it all started (radio) – I started on air in 1984 (Just 16 years old) at a little station in Fenton, Michigan…..WFEN.  Having been a mobile DJ since the age of 13, I just walked in and auditioned, didn’t think I’d actually get the job!!  On-air overnights on the weekends.

How it’s going – I’ve been in Springfield since 2009.  Lynch & Liz (Liz Retired), then Lynch & Laura, now Lynch & Company!!  Going on 14 years!!  You can also hear me Mid-days on 101.9 The Wolf and afternoons on Rewind 92.5 in Champaign.

My favorite local hobby – I’m a car guy, so when I’m not DJing a wedding (My other hobby/job), you’ll probably see me and a volkswagen or my GTO at a local car show.

My favorite local event – Route 66 Mother Road Festival.

My family – I’ve been married to my wife Diane for 32 years and we have 2 grown children, Amanda and Connor.  We have 2 grand babies, Logan & Amelia.  And we have 2 dogs Maggie and Cooper.

Where I came from – I grew up in Michigan and spent most of my years in the small town of Flushing (suburb of Flint).  I attended The Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield, Michigan (Detroit Suburb).  Did radio in Michigan (Flint & Detroit) before spending 20 years in Milwaukee (Radio Job), and now Springfield.

My hidden talent or claim to fame – I appeared on a Charlie Daniels Album!! It was a remix I did of Charlie’s song “In America.” It was shortly after the 911 tragedy, we were playing it on the radio station in Milwaukee and somehow Charlie heard about it and asked if he could put it on his new album as a bonus track. It was huge honor! I’m just glad he spelled my name correctly on the liner notes! 🙂

Days of downpours have begun in Hawaii. The Southwest will soon bake with day after day of record 100-degree-plus (38 Celsius-plus) heat. Two storms will dump snow by the foot over northern Great Lakes states. And the dreaded polar vortex will again invade the Midwest and East with soul-crushing Arctic chill. This forecast of extremes comes as weather whiplash has already hit much of the East.
