(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Two Indiana men are dead after a boating accident at the LaSalle Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area.  The men were fishing with their 7-year-old granddaughter. The accident occurred around noon on Sunday.

A 911 call reported a distressed boater at the 2,000-acre lake near Marseilles. When authorities arrived, they found a capsized boat and the girl onshore with park visitors who helped her contact her family. The girl was wearing a life jacket; the men were not.

The men’s bodies were recovered later that evening, and the LaSalle County coroner pronounced them dead. The cause of the capsizing is under investigation.
