CHAMPAIGN, IL. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Champaign Park District is looking for more information after they said two trees planted in the early 1970s at West Side Park were badly damaged.
The district found significant human-made damage to the trees that will result in them dying.
According to our news partners at WAND TV, the damage to the trees will result in thousands of dollars in damages. The Champaign Park District added that there would be “an environmental impact due to the loss of two mature trees.”
The damage was reported to the Champaign Police Department.
