Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Springfield Police and city officials say a train has struck a pedestrian on the 10th Street railroad tracks.
Police say it happened before 1:30 p.m. The tracks are expected to be closed “for an extended period” of time.
“Traffic at 19th Street in the North Grand Avenue area and north to E. Cummins Avenue is currently closed,” said a city news release. “Motorists should plan for alternative routes to avoid delays where train traffic is stopped.”
