Three people dead following Springfield shooting

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Three people are dead following a late-afternoon shooting in Springfield Thursday.

The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department confirms the deaths, saying all three were found in a home in the 3000 block of Hoover Avenue.  No other details were released, with the Sheriff’s Department calling it an “active investigation.”

Deputies were called to the area at 2:24 p.m. Thursday.

They do urge anyone with information to call (217) 753-6666, or Sangamon and Menard County Crime Stoppers at (217) 788-8027, use the P3 app, or file an anonymous tip online.
