Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Sangamon County Jail has no problems to speak of right now — specifically, issues that might impact conditions or operations.

That’s according to a late Tuesday afternoon news release from the County, shared below.

The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office is aware of recent online posts regarding conditions at the county jail and is providing this update for clarification.

The Sangamon County Jail is fully operational with no disruption to water, electricity, or other essential services. Recent claims circulating on social media and through anonymous online postings suggesting otherwise are false.

Operations at the facility remain normal and secure.
