Springfield man arrested on multiple sexual assault charges

Springfield, Illinois (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of a 45-year-old Springfield man on multiple child sexual assault charges.

Vincent P. Kallal was taken into custody Friday on an arrest warrant after authorities received information, he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old victim in 2024.

The crime was alleged to have occurred at Kallal’s residence in the 700 block of Dirksen Parkway.

An investigation by Sheriff’s detectives and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services uncovered additional crimes that had previously been unreported.

Kallal is charged with three counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, one count of Criminal Sexual Assault, and two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. The most serious offenses are Class X felonies with a potential prison term of 6 – 30 years if convicted.

The investigation continues with the potential for additional criminal charges.
