Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A new application for your phone is now available to the public and it is also free to download. It was recently brought on by the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department, and is known as the Sheriff’s App.

Sangamon County Sheriff, Paula Crouch, spoke on the WTAX Morning Newswatch about the application, its features, and her reasoning on why she wanted to create an informative app that would be available to the public.

Sheriff Crouch said, “Really the point for me was an easy access to all of the information the Sheriff’s Department has to offer or provide.” Crouch also said. “So many people, really we live on our cell phones, even if it’s not on an app you’re using your phone to search anything online or internet. So, it makes sense for the app to have those quick links. One of our most popular features is the inmate search, so we have that dead center in our app there and it links you right away. So, really you just open the app, and push one button so you don’t have to do all of that googling and researching. It just really is right there at your Fingertips.”

The application is available for free download on the Google Play Market, or Apple App Store, and is a sure-fire way to easily get access to whatever information the department has available to the public. Download the app today and see what its all about, but remember, this application is not there to report emergencies, and you still would want to call 911 for that.
