New SCHEELS Sports Park set to host soft opening next weekend

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – There will be an official soft opening of the SCHEELS Sports Park at Legacy Pointe on Friday, December 12.

The soft opening will be in conjunction with the Midwest Open Indoor Archery Tournament and admission to the event will be free to the public for the full weekend.

Those who show up to watch the tournament, will get the chance to shop and browse more than 50 local vendors as well.

If you have been eager to see what’s inside of the dome at the new SCHEELS Sports Park, then you do not want to miss this event that is said to be “Spectacular” for the whole family.

General Manager of the sports park, Brandon Doherty, in a press release sent out by SCHEELS said “We talk about bringing people together and this fair and archery tournament is exactly that. It’s about our community, our families and creating a place where we show up for each other. This is more than an event. It’s a celebration of who we are when we come together.”

The event begins Friday December 12, and doors open at 10 A.M. The vendor fair is set to run from 10 A.M. to 6 on both Friday and Saturday
and will have the open hours of 10 A.M to 4 on Sunday.
