Mike Singletary football card, US currency sheets and gold Rolex among unclaimed property up for auction


Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Illinois State Treasurer, Michael Frerichs, will host a preview of unclaimed property set for auction at the Illinois State Fair. Items include a woman’s 18-karat yellow gold Rolex Oyster watch, Mike Singletary and Troy Aikman football cards, uncut sheets of American currency, and a variety of collectible coins, bills, and precious metals.

Potential bidders can attend the auction preview from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 25at the Marine Bank Building, 1 East Old State Capitol Plaza, in Springfield to take a sneak peek at the items before auction day. (High-resolution photos of some of the items will be posted here.)

The live auction will be held on August 17 at 11 a.m. at the Lincoln Stage on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Other notable items include a Victorian silver-and-gold sword pin with diamonds and rubies, a U.S. gold coin bracelet, and various unique collectibles. The property is divided into 250 lots, with some containing multiple items.
