Markham named COO of HSHS Central Illinois market including St. John’s Hospital

Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The HSHS Central Illinois Market has a new Chief Operating Officer.  HSHS announced Friday that Chad Markham, MBA, was named to the position and will handle operations for St. John’s Hospital in Springfield along with St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Good Shepherd Hospital in Shelbyville, St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur and St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Markham joined HSHS as a ministry CEO in September 2021.  Most recently, he served as president and CEO of HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham and HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital in Shelbyville.  Prior to that, he worked in health care executive leadership roles since 2005 including 12 years at Unity Point Health’s St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was Senior Vice President for Clinic and Network Development and then Chief Operating Officer.
