Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The longtime president of Lincoln Land Community College is about ready to call it a career.
The college says Charlotte Warren, Ph.D. made the announcement to staff and faculty during the college’s annual convocation Friday, effective next June.
Warren, who will have had the job for 20 years when she retires, told the convocation the job “has been a privilege beyond measure.”
“I am deeply proud of all that LLCC’s students, faculty, staff, alumni and community leaders have accomplished and continue to accomplish together,” said Warren, according to a news release. “LLCC is an institution of learning and so much more. It’s a place where dreams take root and bright futures take shape.”
Lincoln Land says four new facilities have been built during her watch in the fifteen-county area the college serves, and nine others have been renovated.
Partnerships with Memorial Health and in the agriculture industry have been established, and Warren is being credited with millions in gift and grant funding being raised.
“Dr. Warren leaves a legacy that will shape our college for generations to come,” said Rep. Wayne Rosenthal, chair of the LLCC Board of Trustees, in a news release. “She has been a tireless advocate for student success, innovation and excellence. Her visionary leadership has fueled transformative projects across the college and expanded meaningful connections with community partners. We are deeply grateful for her service and look forward to honoring the remarkable progress achieved during her time here.”
There’s no word yet on a search for a replacement.
