Jacksonville Police arrest suspect after reported home invasion

Jacksonville, IL (WAND) –  One person is in custody following a reported home invasion Saturday night on the city’s south side.

Jacksonville Police Department said, officers responded around 9 p.m. on Saturday to the 400 block of S. Mauvaisterre Avenue for a report of shots fired.

During their investigation, officers discovered evidence that a firearm had been discharged inside a residence during the course of a home invasion. Police said no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Authorities were able to identify and locate a suspect, who was taken into custody without incident. The individual is currently being held at the Morgan County Detention Facility pending an appearance before a judge.

Police identified the suspect as Tynajah M. Lane of Jacksonville. Lane has been arrested on preliminary charges of home invasion and aggravated assault.

Investigators believe the incident was isolated and said there is no ongoing threat to the public. The case remains under investigation.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
