Flock camera in Jacksonville help find 2 missing children from Kansas

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) – Two missing children from Kansas were found using Flock cameras in Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Police Department said it received an alert from Flock Safety on Friday, Sept. 4 about the missing children.

The department was sent a still image of the vehicle and a close up of the license plate, allowing officers to identify if this was a valid alert.

According to the Jacksonville Police Department, the alert was confirmed as a valid record in the National Crime Information Center through the Illinois Law Enforcement Agencies Data System.

Officers located the vehicle and two children who matched the description. The children were taken to the Jacksonville Police Department and later released to family.
