Crime of the Week:  Help needed identifying suspects from July Springfield car theft

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to help the Springfield Police Department to identify two individuals in reference to a stolen vehicle. 

On July 25, 2026, officers were called to an area around the lake in reference to a vehicle being stolen.  It was reported that sometime in the early morning hours a 2020 Black Audi had been stolen.   Officers were able to recover the vehicle; however the investigation has led to two subjects needing to be identified that were possibly involved.   

Images of the individuals can be found above, and on our website.  Anyone with information regarding this incident, or can identify the suspects, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on our website or use the P3 app.
