‘Cobranded’ events part of Route 66 centennial celebration in Springfield.  Here’s what’s planned

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Visit Springfield, IL is excited to share the current listing of Route 66 Centennial Events & Co-Branded EventsThis list is a living and breathing document that will be updated regularly as new opportunities are released in celebration of the Centennial year.

“Springfield is the heart of Illinois Route 66 including original pavement, giants, neon and culinary delights,” said Scott Dahl, director, Visit Springfield. “I am grateful the City of Springfield is providing funding for events celebrating the Route 66 Centennial as we anticipate welcoming more than 1.5 million travelers from across world to the capital city in 2026.  The convergence of the Mother Road’s 100th, America 250, Scheel Sports Park Grand Opening and FIFA World Cup is expected to generate over $650 million dollars in traveler expenditures this year.”
