The Beauty Den: Magix and a Pretty Pokeball

Hey friends!! The kids are back in school, and I am ready to get this Beauty Den started back up again! I had the pleasure of reviewing a couple Avon products from their new catalog this week. Sandra Nunez contacted me and asked if I wanted to sample anything. I sampled two products for about a week, the Anew Ultimate Supreme moisturizer, and the Magix Face Perfector. Both products are on sale right now, btw!

I am currently obsessed with finding the best primer for my skin concerns. I’ve only started using primers in the last couple years. It’s become a staple of my skin routine every day. I never understood what the big deal about pores and lines were until I hit my late 30’s. Let me tell you…Primers make a difference!!! Lawdy, do they save you time in the morning and make your makeup go on smoother!

I’ve tried a few: Benefit (pricey, but lovely) Milani (eh, too thin, not impressed) Soap and Glory(pretty okay for the price point) Loreal Revitalift ( has spf, but comes out clumpy, doesn’t smooth out easily and makes me break out)

I was on the search for something I like as much as Benefit’s Porefessional Primer. I may have come very close with Magix Face Perfector!! It says it’s a gel, which might be why it seems so weightless on my skin.I will definitely be buying this. It has an spf 20, melts into your skin, covers pores nicely. You can wear it as a primer or alone as all day wear.  It claims to “Instantly hide the look of uneven skin texture.” I didn’t find that to be the case for me and my hyperpigmentation spots, but I wasn’t looking for it to do that either, so I wasn’t disappointed.

Next on the list of things I can no longer do without…PM moisturizer. Seriously. You cannot waste precious skin renewing hours at night NOT moisturizing your skin! That is when your body does it’s most wrinkle ass-kicking!

I tried the Anew Ultimate Supreme every night for a week and to be honest, I probably should have waited until late fall/early winter when the air is a lot drier and consequently, my skin. It is SO rich. A little bit can go a long way. The fragrance is not unpleasant, but it is very strong.  I can tell it’s a quality skin cream, I just think it’s a little too heavy, at least for this time of the year, but if you have super dry skin, this could be for you!

Can we talk about the packaging?! It’s in this gorgeous, hematite colored ball that sits perfectly on your counter along with your perfume bottles! My boys picked it up, probably thinking it was a magic Pokeball or something. I was all, “Don’t open that!”

So, you gorgeous gals, that is it for me today. I have a long list of things (like a highlighter I found that is also the perfect base eyeshadow!) I am dying to tell you about, but I will get  to them soon, I promise!
