Let’s talk lashes. We all have them, but some of us (me) are not blessed in the long, luscious department. I have learned to fake it. Name a mascara that promises to give you Elizabeth Taylor lashes and I have tried it. FINALLY, after years, I have come up with a formula that has been a real game changer. I’ve started using two different brands with two different mascara wands for maximum lash envy.
Benefit’s They’re Real Lengthening Mascara

You’ll need a eye makeup remover at the end of the day, because once it’s on, it is ON for the rest of the day. I love this beauty find so much I have purchased it to put in gift bags and pay the lash forward.
and Maybelline’s Sensational Volumizing Mascara

I use this after I let the Benefit mascara dry, otherwise it all gets too clumpy. It has a tapered wand that is perfect for getting all the lashes at the corners of your eye that are hard for a regular wand to reach. It’s also great to lightly sweep over your lower lashes.
Guess which eye has the good stuff?! See how much longer and luscious?! Haha! It’s all an illusion, but who cares!
I have also found that an eyelash curler is an absolute necessity in getting your lashes primed for the right mascara. Or any mascara. If you don’t have one, get one! I’ve been using Revlon’s Extra Curl Lash Curler and I’ve been really happy with it. I’ve tried other ones that have actually taken lashes out! You don’t want that.
I follow it up with a thin line of black liquid liner along my upper lash line. For added drama, wing it out a little on the outer edge of your lash line. I use whatever liner I have on hand, but I suggest using one with a thin tapered brush to give you more control.
And that’s it! That’s what has been working for me. Let me know what you think after you try it!
