The Beauty Den: At Home Manicures!

20160215_102909

I know, we love our salon manicures. There’s no easier way to feel pampered, amirite?
Due to my current lifestyle, the at home manicure has become a must. The most frustrating thing about that is when you take the time to do all ten digits and you get a smudge or a chip by the end of the day! No thank you!
I have been on a constant search since my kids were born to find the best products for making your nail polish last the longest AND dry the fastest.
Follow these steps and I swear you can do laundry or go to your kickboxing class within the hour.

First: Cuticle oil or coconut oil. I like this cuticle oil I picked up at Sally’s because it has a convenient little brush you can use.

Second: OPI’s Start to Finsish. It’s a protein coat, base coat and top coat all in one!

Third: paint on your nail color. I used to do two light coats. NOW, I paint on one thick coat of color and it dries faster with less smudges and bubbles. I’m also always on the lookout for a good fast dry polish. You take your chances though….Some fast dry polish also seem to up the chipping factor.

Fourth: OPI rapidry spray. GET THIS!!! Seriously I think if I didn’t have this product I wouldn’t even try to do my nails at home. Somebody is going to need a snack soon, and if I didn’t have this I would be waving my hands around like a maniac trying and failing to speed up the process.

Fifth: I credit my mom for finding this one for me. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Topcoat. NO LIGHT NEEDED! Wha? It’s true! Seals your color on and keeps it chip free for DAYS!

Now, get to painting you foxy ladies!
