We did it! We adopted a dog! We are dog people now. My oldest has been asking for a dog for three years and we (I) finally caved after we fell in love with this foster pup! My husband got on board after he realized he was outvoted.
She was listed on the website as a “Lab Mix” and we still can’t figure out what breeds she is made up of, but she sure is cute! Aren’t mutts the best? Right now we’re thinking lab mixed with beagle or basset hound and maybe some collie? Any guesses?
Her name is Roxy and she took to her boys right away! I got to meet her a day before the rest of the family did. She is only a year old, but since she spent most of that year on the streets of metro east St.Louis, she doesn’t really know how to play with toys or act like a puppy.
When we introduced her to the boys though, a whole new side of her emerged! She is playful, she prances, she guards them, and she waits by the front door for them to get home from school.
It’s love, people. Plain and simple. We lucked out big time. She is sweet, cuddly, quiet and housebroken!
I can’t wait to watch these three grow up together.
