Keeping it Real

Ah kids. You gotta love ’em.  Especially when you have worked so hard at a surprise that will make the whole family glow with happiness when it is revealed.  A moment of family bonding that you will remember in your twilight years.  Like when you announce that you are all going to Disneyworld!!!!! And then your son screams in terror.

I have had many moments like this.  My son cried when I told him we got tickets and were whisking him away to see his favorite band, The Imagination Movers, LIVE in concert at the Fox Theater in St.Louis!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! He pouted and cried almost the whole way there.

Christmas mornings, I try not to get too exited when they are getting ready to open up something I think they are going to love. I have been let down to many times to count when their reaction does not line up with the precious daydream I was anticipating.

At least they keep it real.  They will always surprise you. Gotta take the good with the tears!
