Dollar Store Wreath Challenge!

20160321_163716

One thing you need to know about me…I love making things and painting things. I like taking old furniture and giving it new life with a fresh coat of paint and I love being inspired and crafting up something cute out of a pile of odds and ends.

I saw a wreath online that I really loved, but it was a little pricey. Once I had the look in mind I was going for, I ran by the dollar store to get one of their wire wreath frames. Guess how much the sell them for? You’ll never guess. Okay, you give up? $1!!!!! That’s it!

While I was in the store, I decided to challenge myself and see if I could make a wreath entirely out of items I found in that store on that afternoon. No return trips, and no purchases from any of my favorite craft stores.

The end result, a cute wreath I made for $13.50!
My materials:
1 wire wreath frame
2 rolls of burlap ribbon
1 roll of blue ribbon
1 fleece pillowcase I cut into strips
1 bouquet of fake white roses. (or permanent botanicals if we’re fancy)

The one cheat I used was blue and white twine I already had. I don’t know exactly how long it took me, but I caught up on two shows I dvr’d, so I’m guessing a little over an hour.

Got a challenge for me? Share it and let’s do it!
